�mcon <br /> + 1433 North Market Boulevard •Sacramento California 95834-1943 • (916)928-3300 • Fax(916)928-3341 <br /> i� <br /> July 28, 1995 <br /> Project 0805-144 02 <br /> Mr Kyle Christie <br /> ARCO Products Company <br /> 2155 South Bascom, Suite 202 <br /> Campbell, California 95008 <br /> Re Second Quarter 1995 Status Report for ARCO Service Station No 2076 at <br /> 800 East Kettleman Lane, Lodi, California <br /> Dear Mr Christie <br /> At the request of ARCO Products Company (ARCO), EMCON is conducting an <br /> environmental investigation at the subject site (see Figure 1) We have prepared this status <br /> report on the work conducted during the second quarter 1995, which included measuring <br /> depth to groundwater, collecting groundwater samples from the wells for subjective and <br /> laboratory analyses, and calculating the groundwater gradient and direction of <br /> groundwater flow beneath the site <br /> • BACKGROUND <br /> Work performed prior to this quarter included drilling 19 soil bonngs and installing <br /> 4 groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-4) and 7 vapor extraction wells <br /> (VW-1 through VW-7 [see Figure 2]) Residual hydrocarbons were analytically identified <br /> in soil samples collected from borings near the tank cavity and dispenser island <br /> RESNA Industries ([RESNA] formerly Applied GeoSystems) performed a vapor <br /> extraction test on July 30, 1991 (RESNA, September 12, 1991) In November 1991, <br /> RESNA observed the removal of 5 gasoline storage tanks and associated product lines <br /> and excavation of a new tank cavity (RESNA, June 26, 1992) ARCO's contractors <br /> installed new tanks in the tank cavity east of the station building in November 1991 <br /> ARCO initiated groundwater monitoring in October 1992 Results have indicated that <br /> dissolved hydrocarbons have not been detected in groundwater, with the exception of total <br /> xylenes, which was detected in well MW-3 at a concentration of 0 7 parts per billion (ppb) <br /> during the fourth quarter 1993 <br /> GROUNDWATER MONITORING: SECOND QUARTER 1995 <br /> • EMCON of Sacramento, California, was contracted by ARCO to monitor the <br /> groundwater in the monitoring wells previously installed at the site EMCON used these <br /> SAC1pUMSOM8051440 2b1 95 A 2 <br />
