F <br /> April 15, 1993 Working To Restore Nature <br /> ARCO Service Station No 2076, Lodi, California <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> ARCO Service Station No 2076 is located at 800 East Kettleman Lane in Lodi, California, <br /> r <br /> as shown on the Site Vicinity Map (Plate 1) Five underground storage tanks (designated <br /> T1 through T5 on Plate 2) were previously at the site According to information provided <br /> by ARCO, tanks T1 and T2 stored unleaded gasoline, tanks T3 and T4 stored regular <br /> i gasoline, and tank T5 stored super unleaded gasoline Tanks T1 and T5 were single-walled <br /> fiberglass tanks, and tanks T2, T3, and T4 were single-walled steel tanks <br /> PROXIMITY OF WELLS AND UTILITIES <br /> It is our understanding from City of Lodi personnel that the City provides water and a <br /> sanitary sewer for the site An underground septic tank and leaching trench are near the <br /> . southern property boundary (Plate 2) According to public records kept by the California <br /> Department of Water Resources, there are no municipal, domestic, or irrigation water wells <br /> within 540 feet of the site Nearest water supply wells are depicted on Plate 1 <br /> REGIONAL GEOLOGY AND HYDROGEOLOGY <br /> The site is underlain by the Modesto Formation, which is composed of alluvial sediments <br /> ranging from silt to gravel (Marchand and Allwardt, 1977) The Modesto Formation dips <br /> gently to the west (Wagner, et al , 1987) <br /> The site is in the Eastern San Joaquin County Ground-Water Basin (California Department <br /> of Water Resources, 1980) According to personnel of the San Joaquin Public Health <br /> Services, the regional ground-water gradient is to the southwest and depth to ground water <br /> in the area ranges from 45 to 50 feet below surface grade The ground-water basin has been <br /> developed for intensive irrigation, domestic, industrial, municipal, and stock use <br /> 3000&5 2 <br />
