Soil samples were analyzed to determine concentrations of total
petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline using EPA method 5030ain
conjunction with modified 8015, and benzene, toluene, xylenes
ethylbenzene using EPA method 8020. In addition, at the request of
the San Joaquin Local Health District, samples Comp B, P
mp
G and Comp J were analyzed for toxicity using the and istatic
t ac acute
hazardous waste bioassay; reactivity, corrosivity g
and inorganic persistent and bioaccumulative toxic Com taAnc ComTTDC
metals) . Analytical results of the soil samples (Comp F.... ,
Comp F, Comp H and Comp L through Comp V) indicate levels of TPH ?
gasolirie ranging: fxom 4.0 ppm ;to 93 .pplo, However, analytics
results of' the soil samples (Comp B, -Comp C, Comp E, Comp G, Comp
J, Comp K, Comp W,. Comp X, Comp 1, Comp 21 Comp .AA, and Comp BB)
indicate levels of'TPH.,as..ga`soline,ranc}iing .from J0Q.ppni_ to 710._P:
Results of the soil analyses are summarized in Table 1. Copies of
the laboratory analyses, and the Chain of Custody documentation are
attached to this report.
Based on the analytical results of the soil samples, approximately
750 cubic yards of stockpiled soil represented by samples Comp A,
Comp D, Comp F, Camp H and Comp, L through Comp V was disposed of at
BFI Waste Systems in Livermore, California, an approved Class III
disposal site, by Dillard Trucking. However; prior to loading and
off-hauling of the stockpiled soil, KEI recommended than when
obvious isolated high contamination is detected within the
stockpiled soil, that portion of the soil be separately stockpiled
for further treatment and sampling.
Approximately 500 cubic yards of stockpiled soil re.presenn and by
Comp B, Comp C, COMP Z, ComF p , comp G,
andmComp BBmshould remain on-site
Comp X, Comp Y, p
for treatment and further sampling.
A copy of this 'report should be sent to Mr. Steve Schneider of the
San Joaquin Local Health District, and to the Regional Water
Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region.
