Kettleman Lane <br /> Lodi , California <br /> Dear Mr. De Witt: <br /> Per your request, this work plan/proposal for the destruction of <br /> the existing monitoring wells at the subject site is presented for <br /> your consideration. The wells are proposed to be destroyed based <br /> on pending site closure. Site background information is included <br /> in Kaprealian Engineering, Incls. (KEI) Site Investigation Summary <br /> letter report dated November 2., 1993 . Recent and historical <br /> monitoring and sampling data is contained in MPDS Services, Incls. <br /> ,' (MPDS-UN6015-04) dated December 7, 1995. <br /> PROPOSED WELL DESTRUCTION <br /> 1. KEI proposes the destruction of monitoring wells MW1 <br /> through MW9 . The wells will be properly destroyed by <br /> pressure grouting through- the PVC well casings. The <br /> wells extend to depths of 70 to 85 feet below grade. <br /> Permits will be obtained from the San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services (SJCPHS) 'prior to beginning work. <br /> 2. The former wells will be fully - sealed with neat cement <br /> grout, in accordance with the grout mixing guidelines <br /> presented in the California Well Standards, Bulletin 74- <br /> 90, dated June 1991. All grout will be placed by the use <br /> of a tremie pipe. Grout will be placed from the bottom <br /> of the borings up to the surface in one continuous pour. <br /> The upper I to 2 feet of . grout may contain a hardening <br /> agent to allow for reduced curing time. <br /> 3 . The results of the well destruction activities will be <br /> documented in a report. .
