(KEI) , per KEI ' s proposal KEI-P91-
0202 .P3 dated October 16, 1991, and as modified per KEI 's report
(KEI-P91-0202,R6) dated January 23, 1992 . The wells are currently
l monitored monthly and sampled on a quarterly basis. This report
covers the work performed by KEI from February through April 1992 .
i
SITE DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND
The subject site is presently used as a service station. The
vicinity of the site is characterized by gently sloping, west-
southwest trending topography. The site is located adjacent to and
west of U.S. Highway 99, and is located on the north side of
Kettleman Lane. An Arco AM/PM Mini Mart and gasoline station is
located southeast of the site (across Kettleman Lane) . A Location
Map and Site Plans are attached to this report.
KEI ' s initial field work was conducted on February 20, 1991, when
three underground fuel storage tanks and one waste oil tank were
removed from the site. The tanks consisted of one 10, 000 gallon
regular unleaded fuel storage tank, one 10, 000 gallon super
unleaded fuel storage tank, one 10, 000 gallon diesel fuel storage
tank, and one 550 gallon waste oil tank. The tanks were made of
steel, and while the waste oil tank was damaged during its removal,
no apparent holes or cracks were observed in any of the tanks. Ms.
Kasey Foley of the San Joaquin Local Health District was present
during tank removal and subsequent soil sampling.
Six soil samples, labeled Al, A2 , B1, B2 , C1, and C2, were
collected from beneath the fuel tanks at depths ranging from
approximately 15.5 feet to 16. 5 feet below grade. One soil sample,
labeled W01, was collected from beneath the waste oil tank at a
2401 Stanwell Drive,Suite 400
Concord.California 94520
Tel:510.602 5100 Fix:510.68".0602
