1 ' -
' 16 February 2004
. AGE-NC Project No 99-0624
• MTBE was not detected this quarter in well MW-7, this is the first time in three sampling
' events that MTBE was not detected above laboratory reporting limits The vertical extent of
MTBE-Impacted ground water is generally defined, below MCL concentrations
' a The lateral extent of MTBE-impacted ground water has not been defined to the north, east
and south of the UST area An Iso-concentration map depicting the approximate distribution
of dissolved MTBE is presented in Figure 4
' 0 The elevated concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons detected in samples collected from
well MW-2 indicate that this well is within or near the dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon
' "core area" of the on-site plume
' 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of this investigation, AGE recommends
Ia Continuation of the quarterly ground water monitoring program The next monitoring event
should be performed in February 2004
1• Installation of the proposed off-site ground water monitoring well, that could not be
completed during the July 2003 drilling activities, to assess the lateral extent of
MTBE-impacted ground water
• Performance of a receptor survey to locate potential receptors within 2,000 feet of the site
• Preparation of a feasibility studies report to evaluate soil and ground water remediation
alternatives at the site
6.0. LIMITATIONS
IOur professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluation of the geologic/hydrogeologic
conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited number of
available data points(ie soil and ground water samples) and subsurface conditions may vary away
from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
interpretations, opinions and recommendations contained in this report
I
Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc
