<br /> I am writing you in response to your request for information regarding the heavy metal content of DuPont Powder Coatings
<br /> product line,including but not limited to the following:
<br /> Urethane-based CASCADE BLACK UFB-610-S4 TGIC-Polyester-based BLUE STREAK PFK-400-S9
<br /> As outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations,Title 16,Part 1500.17,DuPont Powder Coatings are in compliance with
<br /> the voluntary standard for lead,cadmium,zinc,and other heavy metals in the coatings surface.
<br /> DuPont Powder Coatings' aforementioned products contain no heavy metals. We incorporate no heavy metals into the
<br /> formulation of any DuPont Powder Coatings powder products. Because the beginning ingredients in the formulation contain
<br /> no heavy metals,the decomposition by-products of the powder once it has been sintered and burned to ash contain no heavy
<br /> metals.
<br /> All hazardous ingredients contained in the various components comprising DuPont's powder coatings,are reported by our
<br /> Raw Materials suppliers under the Right-To-Know Law. This reported information is used to compile our Material Safety
<br /> Data Sheets. If any of these components are present in amounts that exceed the listed trace levels, this hazardous raw
<br /> material and the amount contained, measured in weight per cent of total formulation, is reported under Section 3
<br /> HAZARDOUS INGREDIENTS on each product Material Safety Data Sheet.
<br /> On all Material Safety Data Sheets for powder coatings supplied to your firm,no heavy metals are present. Based on this
<br /> reported data,it is the contention of DuPont Powder Coatings,Inc.,that these products contaur no heavy metals.
