Waste paint booth filters are generated from the paint booth shop are being disposed into the garbage <br /> without first determining its hazardous properties. Paint booth filters may be toxic or flammable. Any <br /> person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately cease <br /> disposing the waste paint booth filters into the regular garbage, make a hazardous waste determination <br /> for them, and manage it according the Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and <br /> supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed. <br /> 15. A spill pallet for the waste oil and waste filter drums located inside the shop was observed with <br /> standing liquid in the bottom. All facility communications and alarm systems, fire protection equipment, <br /> spill control equipment, and decontamination equipment, shall be tested and maintained as necessary to <br /> assure its proper operation in time of emergency. Spill pallets shall be maintained clean and dry at all <br /> times so as to detect a leak at the earliest opportunity. Immediately remove and properly dispose of all <br /> hazardous waste from spill pallets, and maintain all spill containment clean and dry at all times. <br /> 20. One 55 gallon blue metal drum of waste oil, two 5 gallon metal buckets of waste paint and spray gun <br /> waste cleaner solution lacks any kind of hazardous waste labeling. All hazardous waste containers <br /> shall be marked with the following information: <br /> 1. the words "Hazardous Waste", 2. name and address of generator, 3. hazardous properties <br /> 4. physical state, 5. composition (contents), 6. accumulation start date <br /> Immediately label these containers and ensure that all hazardous waste containers are marked with all <br /> the required information. <br /> - Corrected on-site. Properly labeled containers of hazardous waste with the minimum information. <br /> - Pre-labeled an empty 30 gallon metal container w/o start accumulation date for future storage of waste <br /> absorbent. <br /> 23. One 55 gallon black drum of drained used oil filters lacks any labeling or identification. Used oil filters <br /> must be stored in a closed, rainproof container, labeled as "drained used oil filters," and marked with an <br /> accumulation start date. Immediately ensure that all used oil filters are managed in this way. <br /> - Corrected on-site.
