Preliminary Site Assessment Work Plan
CURRY'S WAREHOUSE
3127 East Fremont Street, Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Wiley Chandler, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE)has prepared the
enclosed Work Plan for the Curry's Warehouse site located at 3127 East Fremont Street, Stockton,
California. The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1 - Location Map. A plan of the site is
illustrated on Figure 2 -Site Plan.
This Work Plan has been prepared as required by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) to obtain a drilling permit for performance of a
subsurface investigation. This work plan is prepared in accordance with PHS-EHD and Central
Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of
underground storage tank (UST) sites.
The purpose of this investigation is to assess the potential presence of petroleum hydrocarbon and
solvent compound impacts to soil and/or ground water related to the former site operations. Areas
of potential environmental concern to be investigated include the former UST area, a suspected dry
well area and an area formerly occupied by a truck repair facility. This Work Plan provides a
description of the scope of work and procedures to be used in soil probe borings, soil and
groundwater sample collection and analysis, and soil boring abandonment.
2.0. BACKGROUND
The site is currently utilized as a food warehouse retail facility. Four warehouse structures presently
occupy the site. Furthermore, it is AGE's understanding that one portion of the site was formerly
utilized as a truck repair facility and another area was used as a truck repair and/or transmission
repair facility.
2.1. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL
It is AGE's understanding that one 4,000-gallon unleaded gasoline underground storage tank(UST)
was installed in 1980 and then removed on 25 September 1989. The UST was a steel single-walled
design. The UST was located behind the 3127 East Fremont Street structure (See Figure 2). Three
soil samples were collected during the UST removal procedures: 1N, 1S, and Dispenser. Based on
the laboratory results from the soil samples collected from the UST removal event,CHS-EHD
personnel required further site investigation to delineate hydrocarbon impaction. Additional
assessment was performed to evaluate the UST area andla closure letter was issued for the site.
Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc.
