Appendix A <br /> Health and Safety Plan <br /> • Safety supplies and equipment inventory onsite <br /> • Training programs and hazard communication <br /> • Procedures for reporting accidents or incidents <br /> The Project Manager has the authority to suspend work any time he or she finds that the provisions <br /> of the HSP are inadequate for worker safety. <br /> SAFETY AND ORIENTATION MEETINGS <br /> Field personnel from Walton and its contractors/subcontractors will attend a project specific training <br /> meeting for safety issues and review the project tasks before beginning work. The meeting will be <br /> led by the Project Manager. <br /> HAZARDOUS MATERIALS PRESENT <br /> Previous soil investigation work at the site has shown that the site's subsurface soil and groundwater <br /> are not contaminated with gasoline or benzene. <br /> GENERAL PROJECT SAFETY REQUIREMENTS <br /> Project activities will be conducted in accordance with the following minimum safety requirements: <br /> Eating, drinking, and smoking will be restricted to a designated area. The Project Manager will be <br /> responsible for taking necessary steps to protect employees from physical hazards, including: <br /> • Falling objects, such as tools or equipment <br /> • Falls from elevations <br /> • Tripping over hoses, pipes, tools, or equipment <br /> • Slipping on wet or oily surfaces <br /> • Insufficient or faulty protective equipment <br /> • Insufficient or faulty equipment or tools <br /> PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS <br /> Field personnel and visitors are required to wear the following clothing and equipment, as a <br /> minimum, while in the work area of the project site: <br /> • Long pants <br /> • Safety glasses <br /> • Shirt <br /> • Leather work boots <br /> Walton Engineering <br /> Walton 077-013.hsp 2 <br />
