Fujimoto, M.D., M.P.H., Acting Health Officer <br />' 304 E.Weber Ave., 3rd Floor • P O Box 388 • Stockton, CA 95201-0388 <br /> P <br /> 209/468-3420 q4. o <br /> CHARLIE LAWLOR _ _ MAILED 2 °9G <br /> i DISALVO TRUCKING <br /> 859 HARRISON ST <br /> SAN FRANCISCO CA 94107 <br />' RE DISA V <br /> L 4 TRUCKING SITE CODE 1638 <br />' 1444 LATHROP RD; LATHROP CA <br /> I am writing this letter to summarize your recent communications with San Joaquin <br />' County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) staff <br /> concerning the remediation activities at the above referenced facility <br />' The recent report dated August 31, 1995 and prepared by Condor Earth Technologies <br /> Inc , your consultant, states that approximately 15,700 gallons of groundwater has been <br /> extracted from Monitoring Well 441 between August 16, 1995 and August 22, 1995 <br /> Utilizing estimates of porosity and the height of the water column above the confining <br /> layer, a cylindrical area of influence is suspected to have a radius of approximately 23 6 <br /> feet <br /> Groundwater sampling prior to the groundwater extraction exhibited a very low <br /> detection of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons, Diesel (TPH-D), all other petroleum <br /> constituents were non-detectable The August 22, 1995 sampling of Monitoring Wei! #1 <br /> did not detect any petroleum constituents <br /> PHS-EHD recommends a confirmatory groundwater sample be analyzed 30 days from <br /> the August 22, 1995 sampling event. Data from the confirmatory sampling event shall <br /> be compiled into an addendum closure letter report to the August 31, 1995 report. The <br /> closure report should attempt to calculate the potential threat, if any, that the remaining <br /> residual soil may be to groundwater. <br /> Following our receipt and review of the closure report, should the confirmatory sample <br /> of Monitoring Well #1 be absent of petroleum hydrocarbons, PHS-EHD will direct you to <br /> decommission the monitoring well under permit and inspection.
