MONITOR WELL INSTALLATION REPORT
Di Salvo Trucking
1444 Lathrop Road
Lathrop, California
San Joaquin County
Prepared by:
- CONDOR EARTH TECHNOLOGIES, INC.
June 28, 199
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This report was prepared by Condor Earth Technologies, Inc., (Condor) to describe the installation of
one monitor well (MW 1) at the Di Salvo Trucking facility located at 1444 Lathrop Road in Lathrop,
California. The location of the Di Salvo Trucking facility is shown on Figure 1, Appendix A. The monitor
well was installed to meet the guidelines presented in the Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for
Preliminary Evaluation and Investigation of Underground Tank Sites (Tri-Regional Guidelines). This report
was prepared by Condor at the request of Mr. Charlie Lawlor, president of Di Salvo Trucking.
2.0 SITE HISTORY
2.1 Tani: Removal
On August IL 1993, seven underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the site. The
T contents of the tanks were diesel, motor oil, and waste oil. Laboratory analyses of the soil sample collected
from beneath the cast end of the former location of one 10,000-gallon diesel UST (TK4) at approximately
13.5 feet below ground surface (bgs) detected 80 mg/kg diesel and 350 mg/kg motor oil. During removal of
the USTs, grey petroleum staining was noted to a depth of approximately 8 feet on the east sidewall of the
excavation, adjacent to the fill ends of TK3, TK4, and TK5. No evidence of hydrocarbon contamination was
detected at or above the reported laboratory detection limits in any of the retraining soil samples collected
from beneath the former USTs located at the site. Eleanor Ratliff of San Joaquin County Public Health
Services, Environmental Health Department (SJCPHS,EHD) was on site to identify soil sample locations and
select laboratory analyses. The former UST locations are shown on Figure 2, Appendix A. Historical
analytical results are presented in Table 1, Appendix B. Based on the results of laboratory analyses of the soil
samples collected from the site, Condor recommended over-excavation of soil at the east end of the former
location of TK4.
AAo.
L! CONDOR
