Figures 1 and 2 are maps showing the location
of the site. This work plan was prepared based on regulatory agency requirements and anticipated
site subsurface conditions. As our client is int--rested-in beginning this work soon we would
appreciate your prompt review.
SITE BACKGROUND
Two underground storage tanks (JSTs), reportedly containing leaded and unleaded gasoline, were
excavated and removed at the site in June 1997. At that time it was determined that an unauthorized
release had occurred.
In July 1997 approximately 800 cubic yards of hydrocarbon- and non-hydrocarbon-affected soil was
excavated from the site. These excavations, to a maximum depth of approximately 1 I feet below
grade (fbg), occurred during site assessment and remedial excavation activities. Based on the
l findings of these activities we reached the following onclusions.
• A release of fuel hydrocarbons (gasoline) occurred from the former USTs onsite. This
release apparently penetrated the soil column to a depth of approximately eight to 10 fbg.
Fil
y \IWORD\C\PRO7£CTS\200415\Workplan-GW wcll.doc
1
GEOTECHNICAL AND CONSTRUCTION ENGI -EERING TESTING AND INSPECTION
