Box 388
Stockton, California 95201-0388
Subject: Workplan: Groundwater Investigation
Proposed Cintra Park Phase II Development, Tract 2705
Tracy, California
Dear Mr. Infurna:
This workplan includes procedures for the proposed assessment of groundwater encountered
during remedial excavations at the referenced site. Figures 1 and 2 are maps showing the location
of the site. This work plan was prepared based on rete latory agency requirements and anticipated
site subsurface conditions. As our client is inti t:s± _' in beginning this work soon we would
appreciate your prompt review.
SITE BACKGROUND
Two underground storage tanks (USTs),reportedly containing leaded and unleaded gasoline, were
excavated and removed at the site in June 1997. At that time it was determined that an unauthorized
release had occurred.
In July 1997 approximately 800 cubic yards of hydroca bon- and non-hydrocarbon-affected soil was
excavated from the site. These excavations, to a maximum depth of approximately 11 feet below
grade (fbg), occurred during site assessment and remedial excavation activities. Based on the
findings of these activities we reached the following c Dnelusions.
• A release of fuel hydrocarbons (gasoline) oc urred from the former USTs onsite. This
release apparently penetrated the soil column 17o a depth of approximately eight to 10 fbg.
11W0RD1CTR0JECTS1200445\Workp1an-CW we]Ldoc
GEOTECHNICAL AND CONSTRUCTION ENGI EERING TESTING AND INSPECTION
