Lammers Road, Tracy, California
' Site Closure Report
1.0 PROJECT IDENTIFICATION
The following scope of work was conducted in response to the March 28, 2006 directive
by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (Department) to prepare a
' site closure report following the Regional Water Quality Control Board Tri Regional
Guidelines, Appendix A. The Department further directed that an estimate of the
contaminant mass removed and disposed off site and the mass of residual contamination
' remaining in the soil and groundwater at the site be included as part of the closure report.
{1.1 Site Description and History
Areas of potential contamination on the Pombo Ranch property were identified during a
1 Environmental Assessment. The property at 24100 S. Lammers Road is occupied by a
farming facility, which includes residential dwellings, a barn, equipment sheds and shops
used for tractor storage, repairs, and fuel storage. Records indicate that the improvements
' to the parcel started in 1930. The undeveloped acreage is used for irrigated crops and/or
pasture.
' Two underground tanks were listed as, in use, in state records for the 24100 S. Lammers
Road property but had been removed before 1993. Since the tanks were farm exempt
they may have removed without the normally required soil sampling. Several above
' ground tanks are in use at this site. The above ground tanks are located together centrally
in the shop and barn area. Historical photographs show that one of the above ground
tanks was located next to the tractor shop.
1
On September 16, 1998 M.J. KIoberdanz & Associates drilled 8 Geoprobe® soil borings
to five feet below groundwater (average depth 15' bgs). A soil sample was obtained from
the capillary fringe in seven of the eight borings.. Additional soil samples were collected
from cores with possible contamination. Water samples were collected from all eight
' borings. Boring B-1 was drilled in an area of a small pesticide spill identified by the
property owner. Petroleum analysis was included in some of the samples because of the
close proximity to the fuel storage area. Borings B-2, 3, & 4 were drilled around the
1
