Lammers Road, Tracy, California
Quarterly Groundwater Sampling Report
Fourth Quarter October 2004 NOV 2 9 2004
EN
NIENT
NARRATIVE
ErMHEALTH
I1SERVIGFS
On October 20, 2004 M.J. Kloberdanz & Associates, in conjunction with GeoAnalytical
Laboratories, Inc., conducted quarterly groundwater monitoring of the Pombo Ranch site
at 241.00 S. Lammers Road in Tracy, California. Quarterly monitoring activities
consisted of depth to water and water characterization measurements, well purging,
groundwater sample collection and laboratory analysis of water samples collected from
the three groundwater-monitoring wells at this site.
Depths to groundwater measurements were obtained and the wells monitored for floating
product before purging of the wells. Each well was evacuated of at least three well
volumes by means of a steam-cleaned, stainless steel bladder-type pump. During the
purging of the wells, field pH, electrical conductivity, and temperature measurements
were monitored to verify well stability and to insure that representative groundwater
samples were collected. Once well stability was achieved, groundwater samples were
collected. Field data sheets are presented in appendix B.
The groundwater samples were labeled and placed in an ice chest cooled with blue ice or
crushed ice and then logged on a Chain of Custody form and delivered to GeoAnalytical
Laboratories, Inc., a state certified laboratory, located in Modesto, California. The water
samples were analyzed for BTEX, MTBE and the Oxygenated Compounds including
EDB and 1, 2 DCA (EPA Method 8260B) and gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons
(EPA Method 5030, GCFID). Dissolved Oxygen was measured in the field with a down-
hole probe after purging with a submersible pump and before sampling.
SUMMARY FINDINGS
Shallow groundwater was measured at depths of 9.46 to 10.08 feet below grade during
the October 20, 2004 groundwater monitoring event. Water levels were approximately
