r
Pombo Ranch Property
Fourth Quarter Groundwater Sampling Report October 2004
Page: 3
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Shallow ground water flow was to the Northeast with a flat gradient, similar to
groundwater flow in previous events. Gasoline petroleum hydrocarbons were not detected
bathe ana_iy_ticgl laboratory in water sarnp es collected fr m monitoring wells. ?
Volatile aromatic hydrocarbons, and fuel -oxygenates were detected by the analytical
laboratory in water samples collected from the monitoring wells MW4 and MW5 located
at and immediate down gradient from the former underground storage tanks. The
contamination is defined laterally and vertically. The dissolved oxygen low in the vicinity
and down gradient of the release indicates that the biological breakdown of the
groundwater contamination is occurring. The San Joaquin County 1 Environmental Health
Division modified and approved on November 3, 2004, the M.J. Kloberdanz work plan
for the over excavation and removal of impacted soils in the source area. Quarterly
monitoring will continue to confirm the breakdown of the remaining contaminants.
The above represents our best professional opinion as to environmental conditions at this
site. These opinions were derived using data at hand, and standards of care common to
the environmental consulting community in Northern California. There is the possibility
that even with proper application of the above methodologies, there may exist on the
subject property conditions that could not be identified within the scope of this sampling
work or which were not reasonably identifiable from the available information. The
methodologies included in this report are not intended to produce all inclusive or
comprehensive results, but rather to provide the client with information regarding
apparent suspicions of existing and potential adverse environmental conditions relating to
the subject property. Additional work at this site may generate data that could lead to a
change of opinion regarding conditions or appropriate remedial procedures or both.
.D G0
Prepared by: C-
g IFlF O
W ROBERT FOURT in
°C No.i 8 !`
°
Exp
GEO
Robert Fourt, CHG OF G
Certified Hydrogeologist#180 Yip
No.02D5?
Expires:
Michael J.
