Pagel of 3
t •
Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Javad Masoudi Umasoudi@emscorp.us]
Sent: Tuesday, May 20, 2014 9:48 AM
To: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Subject: RE: Groundwater Monitoring at 425 Larch Road in Tracy
Expires: Thursday, August 28, 2014 12:00 AM
Dear Vicki,
There are 28 groundwater monitoring wells and 11 dual-phase extraction wells at this site. It is planned
to abandon 14 un-necessary wells. EMS has scheduled monitoring and sampling the remaining 25 wells
in order to update the groundwater data and conditions. These wells are MW-1, MW-2, MW-4, MW-5,
MW-8, MW-9, MW-13, and MW-17 through MW-28, DPEI, DPE2, DPE3, DPE6, DPE8, and DPE11.
EMS proposes to purge and sample the wells following Low-Flow/Micro-Purge Method. A pneumatic
pump will be used for purging and sampling the wells. The pump intake for the shallow wells will be set
at about 13 feet +/- bgs. The pump intake for the deep wells (MW-13 and MW-18) will be set at 35 feet
bgs. In addition, three MTBE-impacted wells (DPE3, MW-17, and MW-19)will be purged and sampled
following 3- to 5-well-water-volume method. One equipment blank per each sampling day and one
duplicate sample per every 10 samples will be collected for QA/QC purposes.
The water samples will be analyzed for TPH-g and VOCs including fuel oxygenates. The laboratory
analysis of water samples will be performed by a laboratory licensed by the State of California
Department of Health Services.
Should you have any questions about this plan, please call me.
Sincerely,
S. Javad Masoudi, P.E.
EnviroMonitoring Services, Inc.
23011 Moulton Parkway, Suite B-14
Laguna Hills, CA 92653
Ph: (949) 768-6210
Fax: (949) 770-8128
From: Vicki McCartney [EH] [mailto:vmccartney@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Monday, May 19, 2014 4:28 PM
To: Javad Masoudi
Subject: RE: Groundwater Monitoring at 425 Larch Road in Tracy
Javad,
Thank you for the notification of the sampling event. Will you please provide a list of the wells that you plan to
sample?
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
5/20/2014
