l
SITE CHARACTERIZATION REPORT
FRONTIER TRANSPORTATION, INC.
425 LARCH ROAD
TRACY, CALIFORNIA
1.0 INTRODUCTION '
This report outlines the work scope for soil and groundwater characterization beneath the
Frontier Transportation, Inc. (Frontier) site in Tracy, California. Previous work at this site
indicated groundwater has been impacted by petroleum product constituents (PPCs). In this
report the term PPC refers to petroleum constituents indicative of gasoline and diesel fuels.
The source of the PPCs appears to have been a release from one or more underground
storage tanks (USTs) maintained at the site until 1995. This site characterization is being
implemented in response to a request from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Division (SJCEHD).
This report was prepared by the Environmental Services Division of The Twining
Laboratories, Inc. (Twining), located in Fresno, California. The services provided by
Twining were authorized by Mr. Bob Mulford, Vice President, Frontier Transportation, Inc.
in a contract (C-195-0185) dated November 27, 1995. Mr. Mulford may be contacted at
3577 Philadelphia Avenue, Chino, California 91710, telephone number (209) 590-8245.
' 2.0 BACKGROUND
A description of the site, the geologic and hydrologic characteristics, and the project history
are summarized in the following subsections.
2.1 Site Description: The site is located in Tracy, California at 425 Larch Road (APN
212-200-08) in the northwest quarter of Section 16, Township 2 South, Range 5 East, Mount
Diablo Baseline and Meridian.
