3.1 Sampling and Analyte <br /> The east and west portions of the property were evaluated by collecting soil samples from depths of <br /> 1.5 and.3 feet at five locations (IB1 - HB5), with the exception of location HB2 where a 3-foot <br /> sample could not be collected due to a subsurface obstruction. The 1.5-foot samples were analyzed <br /> for TEPH using EPA Method 3550/8015M. The 3-foot samples were held pending the results of the <br /> shallow sample analyses. Soil samples were also collected from two locations (HB6 and HB7) <br /> between previous boring B 1 and wells MW-6 and MW-7 at depths of 1.5,5,and 10 feet. These soil <br /> samples were analyzed for lead using EPA Method 6010. <br /> Soil samples were collected from three locations (HB8 - HB 10) in the vicinity of previous boring <br /> B4 at depths of 1.5, 5, and 10 feet. Boring HB8 was advanced to approximately 2 feet below the <br /> water table, and a ground water sample was collected using a Teflon bailer lowered through the <br /> augers. These soil samples were analyzed for lead and TEPH,and the ground water grab sample was <br /> analyzed for TEPH and dissolved lead. The ground water sample for lead analysis was collected in <br /> an unpreserved bottle and filtered through a 0.45-micron filter in the laboratory upon receipt. <br /> A hand auger was used to collect samples at locations HB 1,HB2,and HB3, and a drill rig equipped <br /> with hollow stem augers was used at the remaining locations. Sampling procedures are described <br /> in Appendix A. Boring logs are presented in Appendix B. <br /> 3.2 Analytical Results <br /> Chemical analyses were performed by ChromaLab of Pleasanton, California. ChromaLab is <br /> certified by the California Environmental Protection Agency for the analyses performed. Analytical <br /> results are shown on Table 1. Laboratory analytical reports are attached as Appendix C. <br /> Lead was detected at maximum concentrations of 12 parts per million (ppm) in the samples from <br /> HB6. Lead was measured at 150 ppm in the 1.5-foot sample from HB7, and at 26 and 15 ppm in <br /> the 5 and 10-foot samples,respectively. The sample from HB9 showed a similar distribution, with <br /> lead measured at 420 ppm at 1.5 feet, 15 ppm at 5 feet, and 11 ppm at 10 feet. The highest <br /> concentration of lead was 4,600 ppm measured in the 5-foot sample at HB 8. The 1.5 and 10-foot <br /> samples from HB8 contained 15 ppm and 120 ppm, respectively. Samples from FIB 10 showed a <br /> similar decrease with depth,from 420 ppm at 1.5 feet, 200 ppm at 5 feet, and 140 ppm at 10 feet. <br /> TPH as motor oil was detected in all shallow samples at concentrations ranging from 12 to 450 ppm. <br /> In locations HB8 and HB 10 concentrations were higher in the 5-foot sample than in the 1.5 <br /> and 10-foot samples. <br /> L067HREP.030 <br /> i -�i•�s 2 <br />
