The <br /> purpose of the subsurface investigation is to determine the vertical and horizontal extent of soil <br /> and groundwater contamination, if any, in the vicinity of the former underground storage tank <br /> (UST). This work being done at the direction of San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD). I <br /> The proposed scope of work includes obtaining permits, advancing six soil borings using direct <br /> push technology, soil and grab groundwater sampling, and the laboratory analysis of selected soil <br /> and groundwater samples. If the initial soil and, groundwater samples contain detectable <br /> concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons, -the proposed .scope of work will also include the <br /> advancement of three additional soil borings that will be completed as groundwater monitoring <br /> wells, development and sampling of the wells, and the preparation of a summary report. The <br /> a scope of work is described in detail in the following paragraphs. <br /> SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located on the west side of South Lincoln Street, one half block north of Moffet j <br /> Boulevard in Manteca, California, as shown on Figure 1.
