The
scope of work outlined herein was requested to determine whether or not the subsurface has
been impacted by the former chrome plating operations. This work is intended as a
"presence/absence" investigation designed to determine whether or not impacts exist.
As requested by the EHD:
• AEI understands that the EHD does not direct the work of the investigation.
• All results of the investigation will be submitted to the EHD within 60 days of the
sampling event.
• If the results of the investigation show that contamination is present, AEI understands
that regulator oversight will be necessary for future work.
I Site Description and Background
The property is located along Giannecchini Lane between Lycoming Street to the south and
Boeing Way to the north in Stockton, California (Figure 1). The property contains a light
industrial concrete tilt-up building. The building previously housed Advanced Metal Plating, a
chrome plating operation. The building consists of office areas and warehouse areas. An
asphalt parking lot is located in the southern part of the property. Landscaping is located along
the east side of the property. The property is located at an elevation of approximately 25 feet
above mean sea level and slopes to the southwest towards French Cam Slu which is located
approximately 2 miles southwest of the.property.
A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) was performed by GaiaTech, Inc. as detailed in
a report dated May 2011. The Phase I ESA recommended, based on recognized environmental
conditions, that a Phase II Investigation be performed to evaluate if the subsurface has been
impacted by the former chrome plating operations in Suite 400.
