Hwy 4
Stockton, CA
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD) has reviewed the "Limited
Subsurface Investigation Report"dated January 18. 3005. prepared by Advanced
GaoEnvironmenha\ Inc. (AGE)for the above referenced site.
Two underground storage tanks (UST's)were removed from the site in May 1991. Laboratory
analysis of the five soil samples collected beneath the UST's at the time of their removal showed
that two of the samples had one part per million of total petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil
sample. One of the two water samples collected from the UST pit at that time had low levels of
petroleum contamination.
In October 1994 monitoring well was installed in the former LIST area. The water from the
monitoring well was sampled and tested twice with no contaminants found. The site was issued a
No Further Action Required letter with respect to the UST's in February 1996 by EHD.
No contaminants were found in the soil samples collected during the November 2004
investigation. Nocontaminants were found in the grab water samples collected from probe
locations on the east site of the building where the former UST's were located. Agrab water
sample from a probe location on the west side of the building had 40 parts per billion of MTBE.
There were no contaminants found in the water sample collected from the on-site well that is near
the probe location onthe west site ofthe building. The on-site well iuapparently only 35feet
deep and the pump iaset ot30feet deep.
The information provided does not indicate that the UST case should be reopened at this time.
Data from grab groundwater samples are not strictly comparable to data from groundwater
monitoring wells orshallow drinking water wells. |fyou decide tofurther investigate the
contamination found in the grab water sample, a work plan should be submitted to EHD.
|fyou have any questions contact meat(2OQ)4G8-344U.
Donna Haron.
