This investigation was requested by the City in
' anticipation of future use and development of the property. Figure 1 shows the location of the
subject property.
2.0 SITE BACKGROUND
The former WPRR Property is located on the northwest comer of West Lindsay and North Van
Buren. Presently, the site is vacant, but it has been used as a loading/unloading and storage area
for railroad cars. It is unknown what materials were utilized for reclamation. It has been
reported however, that solid waste and dredge spoils were used as part of the fill (Jim Escobar,
City of Stockton, verbal communication, 1989). The former WPRR site is also located adjacent
' to two known hydrocarbon contaminated sites, Crystal Creamery and Chase Chevrolet.
2.1 Results of Environmental Records Review
A computer search of Federal, State, and local databases regarding facilities with environmental
concerns within a one-half mile radius of the subject property was conducted.
