(AGE) on your behalf for the Volpi Farm Property at 14210 West State Route Four in
Stockton (Site).
The Site is in an agricultural region about 13 miles west of Stockton on Highway 4. Two
maintenance buildings are onsite, an irrigation ditch runs along the southern portion, and one
domestic well is north of the Site. Two aboveground tanks (ALTs) were in operation at the
Site. A 7,500-gallon diesel AGT was formerly on the eastern portion and a 1,000-gallon
gasoline AGT was near the center. In September 1999, Volpi removed the AGTs and
dispenser.
The Report summarizes the site remedial history, sensitive receptors, and results of the fate
and transport analysis. In 1998 and 1999, Volpi excavated nine trenches and about 300 cubic
yards of contaminated soil from the Site. Volpi installed seven groundwater monitoring wells
(MW-1 through MW-7) at the site and sampled them sporadically'from 2000 to 2005. The fate
and transport analysis showed that concentrations would not reach the onsite domestic well
and would be below detection limits in one to two years. A staff memo reviewing the Report is
attached.
On 6 May 2005, Volpi collected groundwater samples from MW-1 and MW-3. MW-1 is
downgradient of the former gasoline AGT and the excavation areas and historically had the
highest petroleum concentrations. MW-3 is west of the gasoline AGT and excavation areas.
MW-1 did not contain any petroleum hydrocarbons, but MW-3 contained the highest
concentrations of methyl tert butyl ether (MTBE) ever detected. No other wells were sampled
during this event.
California Environmental Protection Agency
rp• ae_, reel Pt,fe.
