Box 58
Holt, CA 95234
MONITORING, WELL INSTALLATION AND SAMPLING REPJR T, VOL PI FARM PR_OPER T Y,
14210 WEST STATE ROUTE FOUR, STOCKTON,SAN JOA QUIN COUNTY
We have reviewed the Monitoring Well Installation and Sampling Report, Volpi Farm Property, 14210
West State Route Four, Stockton, San Joaquin County(Report), dated 5 November 2002 and prepared on
your behalf by Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc. (AGI). The Report describes the September 2002
installation, and sampling of shallow monitoring well MW-7. Soil was analyzed for total petroleum
hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline (-g) and diesel (-d), fuel oxygenates including methyl tert-butyl ether
(MtBE), and benzene-toluene-ethylbenzene-xylenes (BTEX),with no detections reported in soil.
Groundwater was analyzed for the same constituents. The Report states that only MtBE was detected in
groundwater at 1.6 µg/L, although the lab reports MtBE as non-detect at 5.0 gg/L for MW-7. The
Report recommends that quarterly monitoring of all monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-7)begin in
December 2002, and that a closure report be prepared after three quarters of sampling, if contaminant
levels do not change.
Comments:
1. Our 2 July 2002 letter requested comments on the Draft Monitoring and Reporting Program (MRP)by
1 August 2002. We have not received comments so we finalized the MRP (attached). Note that the
groundwater analyses detection limits required for the MRP were not met in the most recent sampling
event for several constituents. Please work with the laboratory to meet the required method detection
limits for groundwater analyses in future events.
2. The report recommends site closure after three quarters of monitoring if no change in contaminant
levels are observed. Only one well(MW-7) was sampled in September 2002. Trends in groundwater
contaminant concentrations in all seven monitoring well will need to be evaluated before site closure is
requested.
California Environmental Protection .Agency
Recycled Paper
