Lewis : <br /> SECOR International Incorporated ( SECOR ) , on behalf of Chevron Environmental Management <br /> Company ( Chevron ) , has prepared this work plan for assessment activities concerning the Chevron <br /> pipeline ( Pipeline ) located near the above referenced site ( Figure 1 ) . The objective of the proposed <br /> soil borings is to assess the presence of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater , along the <br /> Pipeline adjacent to 541 West Grant Line Road . This work plan was prepared in response to a letter <br /> from the Regional Water Quality Control Board ( RWQCB) , dated January 30 , 2004 (Attachment 1 ) . <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The site is a section of Chevron pipeline ( Milepost 9 . 90) located near 541 West Grant Line Road in <br /> Tracy, California . The site and surrounding area consists of commercial buildings , residential lots , <br /> and an unlined storm water basin that is located south of undeveloped property. The pipeline is <br /> approximately 50 feet south of the site and runs underground down the centerline of West Grant Line <br /> Road ( Figure 2) . The pipeline has been an active refined fuel pipeline since 1965 . There have been <br /> no reported leaks in the pipeline in this area to date . <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The scope of work for this assessment will include the advancement of three soil borings at the <br /> locations shown on Figure 2 , and the collection of shallow soil and unconfined groundwater at each <br /> proposed soil boring . <br /> WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> The specific work activities to be completed as part of the assessment are listed below . <br /> SITE - SPECIFIC SAFETY PLAN <br /> As required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration ( OSHA) Standard " Hazardous <br /> Waste Operations and Emergency Response" guidelines (29 CFR 1910 . 120 ) , and by California <br /> Occupational Health and Safety Administration ( Cal - OSHA ) " Hazardous Waste Operations and <br /> I :\Chevron\pipeline\Reports\Chevron Pipeline Assessment Work Plan . doc <br />
