SOIL ASSESSMENT FOR PROPERTY ACQUISITION
Intersection of Interstate 205 and Grant Line Road
Tracy, California
Delta Project No. 40-89-052
Page 9
Surface samples from soil borings SB-1, SB-3, SB-4, SB-5, and SB-6 were selected to represent
pesticide/herbicide residues in surface soils (where pesticide/herbicide constituents are applied to
and retained in soils).
Following sample retrieval, each sample collected in a brass tube was immediately capped, labeled,
and stored on ice for delivery to the laboratory.
5.4 Grouting of Soil Borings
All soil borings were grouted from the bottom of the borehole to ground surface on July 20, 1989,
immediately following completion of drilling activities. Approximately 1 cubic foot of bentonite
was placed at the bottom of each borehole prior to grouting. The grout consisted of a cement/sand
slurry and was tremied into each borehole.
