M. Scott Mansholt - 3 - 3 March 2010
Chevron
Former Tracy Pump Station
• Central Valley Water Board staff concur that offsite characterization activities can be
completed as the Tracy Pump Station Offsite project.
• Prior to initiating a request to consider a No Further Action Required determination, an
environmental risk screening evaluation that addresses Site conditions, including a
sensitive ecological receptors survey, needs to be completed.
• The risk screening evaluation needs to consider the appropriate current and likely future
use(s) of the Site and include an assessment for the concentrations of metals in crude
oil affected soil.
Based on our review, Central Valley Water Board staff concur that activities associated with
the Tracy Pump Station and Tracy Pump Station Offsite projects can proceed. The comments
outlined above should be incorporated into future assessments and/or investigations.
By 30 November 2010, please submit an amended workplan for delineation of soil and
groundwater on the downgradient-offsite property(ies). Please continue to inform Central
Valley Water Board staff regarding any access issues.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact Dean Hubbard at (559) 445-5179.
C
SHELTON R.
