Lehman, Tracy
APN 255-020-61, SR0081008
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed the Soil
Suitability/Nitrate Loading (SSNL) Study, dated August 1, 2019 submitted on August 5, 2019 and its
Update-2 dated September 6, 2019 and submitted on September 27, 2019 for the above noted
location, and has the following comments for your consideration.
The SSNL was prepared to determine the suitability of the above noted parcel for onsite wastewater
treatment system (OWTS) usage and the potential impact of nitrate to groundwater for the proposed
project development. The proposed development project includes:
1. A nut processing facility with maximum of 12 employees at any time.
2. The OWTS usage with wastewater of 180 gallons per day.
Based on the information provided, the EHD can make the following findings.
1. The SSNL Study supports the suitability for standard OWTS usage with the following
conditions:
a. The geological boring conducted boring work was done without obtaining a permit from
the EHD and without an inspection by the EHD. The San Joaquin County Ordinance Code,
Section 9-1115.3 requires a permit be approved by the EHD prior to drilling. Obtain
geotechnical permit from EHD prior to issuance of an OWTS permit and final occupancy.
b. The percolation tests conducted at the site indicate the soil percolate wastewater at rate
of 16.0 minute per inch. This rate require an 8 foot separation between bottom of dispersal
leach field and highest level of ground water. Groundwater was observed in the boring (B-
GW) at 13 feet below ground surface.
2. Complete any remaining conditions of approval for PA-1800244, including the well
sampling test results, prior to the issuance of an OWTS permit and final occupancy.
1868 E.
