WORKPLAN
FOR
SOIL SAMPLING
AT
CORDES FARM
24915 HANSEN ROAD
TRACY, CALIFORNIA
I. INTRODUCTION
This workplan describes the proposed soil sampling to be completed at the Cordes Farm located at
24915 Hansen Road, Tracy, California. The purpose of this investigation is to assess if previous and
current uses of hazardous materials at has impacted the shallow soils of the subject property.
Thirteen soil borings, eight soil samples and two sediment samples are planned for this
investigation. In general, the sampling areas are located in the main farm compound by above
ground fuel tanks, hazardous materials storage areas, underground septic tanks and at random areas
across the farm fields for potential pesticide contamination. Select soil samples will be analyzed by
State Certified Laboratory for petroleum hydrocarbons, volatile organic compounds including
chlorinated solvents, metals and pesticides. The on-site groundwater production well will also be
sampled for this investigation for general minerals.
The utility clearances is scheduled to be completed on November 15, 1999. The soil sampling is
scheduled for November 22, 1999. A soil sampling report will be submitted to San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD)upon completion of investigative activities.
Included in this workplan are: 1) site setting, 2) the scope of the proposed work, 3) descriptions of
field procedures, sampling protocols, and analytical methods, and 4) project staff and schedule.
Maps showing the site location and the locations of the proposed sampling points are presented in
Figures 1 and 2. Also included are example boring logs and laboratory and chain-of-custody
laboratory form(Appendix A) and a site specific health and safety plan (Appendix B).
A.
