MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM <br /> UNITED STATES ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS AND PORT OF STOCKTON <br /> STOCKTON DEEP WATER CHANNEL AND TURNING BASIN MAINTENANCE DREDGING PROJECT <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY -4- <br /> Constituent/ Analysis Minimum <br /> Analysis Units Method Detection Limit (mQ/kg) <br /> Total Nickel mg/kg 6010 5.0 <br /> Total Lead mg/kg 7470 5.0 <br /> Total Zinc mg/kg 6010 2.0 <br /> EPA 600/2-78/054 <br /> Samples shall be collected within six months following cessation of discharge of <br /> sediments. A minimum of three samples shall be collected from the site. Each <br /> sample shall be a composite of the vertical depth of the material . <br /> THREE SPECIES EFFLUENT TOXICITY MONITORING <br /> Effluent toxicity monitoring shall be conducted to determine whether the effluent is <br /> contributing toxicity to the San Joaquin River. The testing shall be conducted as <br /> specified in USEPA guidance manual EPA 600/4-89/001 . Effluent toxicity samples <br /> shall be collected from the sedimentation pond discharge prior to its entering the <br /> San Joaquin River. Grab samples shall be representative of the volume and quality <br /> of the discharge. Time of collection of samples shall be recorded. Effluent <br /> toxicity monitoring shall include the following: <br /> Species: Pimepha7es prome7as, Ceriodaphnia, and Selenastrum <br /> Frequency: One every three months. <br /> Dilution Series: Initial testing shall be on 100% effluent. If <br /> toxicity is found, then subsequent sampling and <br /> analysis shall include the following dilution <br /> series: <br /> Controls <br /> Dilutions (%) River Lab <br /> 100 75 50 25 12.5 Water Water <br /> Effluent 100 75 50 25 12.5 0 0 <br /> Dilution Water' 0 25 50 75 87.5 100 0 <br /> Lab Water 0 0 0 0 0 0 100 <br /> Dilution Water shall be non-toxic receiving water from the San Joaquin <br /> River taken upstream from the discharge point. <br /> REPORTING <br /> In reporting the data, the Discharger shall arrange the data in tabular form so that <br /> the date, the constituents, and the concentrations are readily discernible. The <br /> data shall be summarized in such a manner to clearly illustrate the compliance with <br /> waste discharge requirements. <br />
