Monitoring Report Compliance Checklist 4
Discharges Regulated by Title 27 and/or Part 258
Reference Parameter Yes No N/A RWQCB
Reviewer Comment
WDRs u. Is there a summary of the v
Standard monitoring results indicating any 1
Provisions changes made or observed since
(1993.1997.2000. the previous annual report?
2003)
v. (check one) Yes No
If No, check all issues that apply and provide comments:
Comments (to be entered into CIWQS/Geotracker):
Incomplete transmittal letter
Incomplete report
Inadequate monitoring program
New release
Inadequate response to evidence of a release
WDRs violation other than listed above
Other (explain in comments)
Additional Comments and Recommendations:
These sites are under a Cleanup and Abatement Order to remove tile waste containing leachable concentrations of
Chromium and diesel range petroleum hydrocarbons. The monitoring data from both sites suggest that low-levels of
diesel are showing up in groundwater. Diesel has low mobility in groundwater and hopefully removal of the waste piles
will be sufficient to mitigate any impacts. Both sites have low-level chromium concentrations in both up and down
gradient wells. Chromium concentrations are often greater in down gradient wells but it will be difficult to prove
degradation of groundwater. The implication is that there are minor low-level chromium impacts to groundwater from the
waste and timely removal of the waste piles may prevent a condition of pollution. Continued monitoring of these sites is
called for to demonstrate that waste removal prevented further impacts.
RWQCB Staff Signature:
Date: 3z9
