k'` KLEINFELDER
5 LABORATORY RESULTS
A total of 17 soil samples were collected during the advancement of the 5 shallow hand-augered
soil borings and the two drilled soil borings. The seventeen soil samples were submitted under
chain-of-custody control to Sequoia Analytical Laboratories (Sequoia) of Sacramento,
California. Sequoia is certified by the California Department of Health Services (DHS) to
perform the requested analyses.
5.1 ORCHARD AREA
Five soil samples were collected from five shallow soil borings within the proposed March Lane
Extension. Four of the soil samples were collected in the Blossom Ranch orchard area and one
soil sample was collected in the row crops of the adjacent Sperry property (See Plate 2). Each of
the five soil samples were collected at approximately %i foot bgs, and were submitted for the
following analyses:
• Organochlorine Pesticides and PCBs by EPA Method 8080
• Chlorinated Herbicides by EPA Method 8150
• Carbamates and Urea Pesticides by EPA Method 632M
Each of the soil samples submitted for analyses were analyzed on a standard laboratory
turnaround requiring approximately 10 to 15 working days.
The only analyte detected in the requested analyses from the five soil samples was the
organochlorine pesticide 4,4'-DDE. The following table summarizes the analytical results that
were detected above laboratory reporting limits:
Table 5-1
Shallow Soil Sampling Results
Sample Location Sample I.D. 4,4'-DDE
SBI 15030 18.3
SB2 15029 25.5
SB3 15028 18.3
SB4 15027 7.32
SB5 15026 23.0
Units µg/kg
Notes
pg/kg Micrograms per kilogram(parts per billion)
20-3712-08.E02/2018R1090 Page 9 of 17
©1998,Kleinfelder,Inc.
