R5-2008-0149- 029 REVISION 1,
UNIFIRST, 819 NORTH HUNTER STREET, STOCKTON, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
UniFirst is remediating dry cleaning solvents in groundwater at its Stockton facility by
injecting Hydrogen Releasing Compound to groundwater and monitoring the results.
The injection and monitoring is being conducted pursuant to General Order No.
R5-2008-0149-029, General Waste Discharge Requirements for In-situ Groundwater
Remediation at Sites with Volatile Organic Compounds. Groundwater monitoring since
2011 has demonstrated that the scope and frequency of monitoring may be reduced.
On 5 March 2014, California Regional Water Quality Control Board provided UniFirst
with a draft revised monitoring and reporting program (MRP). On 10 March 2014, your
consultant, Mr. William Aravanis of AMEC Environment and Infrastructure, notified
Ms. Amy Terrell of my staff that UniFirst had no comments on the draft revised MRP.
Therefore, the attached Monitoring and Reporting Program, No. R5-2008-0149-029
Revision 1 is currently in effect. The First Semi-annual Monitoring Report is due by
31 May 2014. If you have any questions, you may contact Ms. Terrell at by telephone
at (916) 464-4680 or by email at Amy.Terrell@Waterboards.ca.gov.
403
GERALD J.
