San Francisco French Bread Company was the owner of the <br /> property, the USTs and the bakeries who operated the USTs when the contamination was <br /> discovered. Edward and Dorsie Overton purchased the property in August 1997. Metz Baking <br /> Company reportedly bought the baking companies and filed bankruptcy in 2000. <br /> Metz Baking Company had two soil borings, a monitoring well and a vapor extraction well <br /> installed at the site in February 1996 and three CPT borings completed in December 1997. <br /> EHD has met with Edward Overton and he has not complied with our directives. San Francisco <br /> French Bread Company also has not complied with directives to further investigate the site. <br /> EHD is referring this site to the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley <br /> Region for oversight/enforcement as the lead regulatory agency.
