. . . ,
Site Background Information: Thater Property(former Tucker Construction)
• 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene, 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene, isopropylbenzene, naphthalene, n-
butylbenzene, n-propylbenzene, p-isopropyltoluene, sec-butylbenzene, and tert-
butylbenzene.
BTEX was detected at concentrations of 49 gg/l benzene, 540 gg/l toluene,590 gg/l ethylbenzene,
and 2,300 µg/1 xylenes.
1,2,4-trimethylbenzene, 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene,isopropylbenzene, naphthalene, n-propylbenzene,
p-isopropyltoluene, and sec-butylbenzene were detected at concentrations of 520 µg/1, 400 gg/l,
34 jig/I, 180 jig/I, 85 gg/1, 13 gg/1, and 390 gg/l, respectively.
On 18 and 19 April 2005,three additional ground water monitoring wells (MW-2 through MW-4)
were installed at the site. Pilot borings MW-2 through MW4 were completed as ground water
monitoring wells of the same designations using 2-inch diameter, Schedule 40 polyvinylchloride
(PVC)casing with a 0.020-inch slotted screen installed from 45 feet to 65 feet bsg.A total of sixteen
soil samples were analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbon constituents; no analytes were detected at
or above laboratory detection limits.
STRATIGRAPHY
Generally, fine-grained, gray-brown, damp, silty sand was encountered in boring MW-1 from
surface grade to 5 feet bsg. From 10 feet to 30 feet bsg, fine- to medium-grained, blue-gray to
yellow-brown,moist micaceous sand was identified.From 35 feet to 40 feet bsg,weakly cemented,
very fine grained,gray-green,moist micaceous silty sand was encountered. From 45 feet to 60 feet
bsg, orange-gray, green-gray, and red-brown micaceous silty sand was encountered. This material
was moist, with grain size coarsening with depth from very fine-grained to medium-grained. At
65 feet bsg, orange-gray, clayey sand with grain sizes ranging from medium to coarse was
encountered.
To date, the lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination in ground water is defined to the
north by well MW-4, to the south by well MW-2, and to the southeast by well MW-3.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
