23 July 1998 <br /> AGE-NC Project No. 98-0463 <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br /> water screen and advanced to the total depth of each probe boring; the rods will then be pulled <br /> upward to allow ground water to flow into the screen. A bailer fitting will then be placed on the end <br /> of%-inch diameter polyethylene tubing,inserted through the rod assembly into the exposed screen, <br /> through which water will be manually pumped. <br /> The retrieved ground water samples will be collected into EPA-approved 40-m1 VOA vials and into <br /> 1-liter amber bottles. The VOA samples will have visible bubbles removed prior to sealing with a <br /> Teflon-lined cap equipped with a sampling septum. Upon sealing, the sample containers will be <br /> labeled with the probe boring designation, date, time and sampler's initials. Each sample will be <br /> placed in a chilled container for transportation to a state-certified laboratory. <br /> 3.2. EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION <br /> All sampling tools will be thoroughly rinsed with clean water after washing with a solution of <br /> Alconox. New, clean polyethylene tubing will be used for each sampling location. All Geoprobe <br /> rods are cleaned prior to advancement in each probing location. <br /> 3.3: LABORATORY ANALYSIS <br /> All ground water samples will be analyzed for CAM metals; two samples will be analyzed for <br /> pesticides and semi-volatile compounds. The following EPA methods will be utilized for the <br /> specified analytes and compounds: <br /> • EPA Method 6010 and possibly others for CAM metals; <br /> • EPA Method 8270 for semi-volatile ; and <br /> • EPA Method 608 for pesticides and fumigants. <br /> Laboratory reports of the ground water analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality <br /> assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be <br /> presented in a report with the findings and recommendations. <br /> 4.0. PROCEDURES <br /> 4.1. COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> For the collection of ground water samples,the following procedures will be performed: <br /> 1. Prepare a site health and safety plan in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. <br />
