Figure 1 (Appendix A) presents a Vicinity Map of the Site and
Figure 2(Appendix A) presents a Site Map/Aerial Photograph.
1.0 SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY
1.1 INTRODUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT
The Soil Suitability Study (SSS) was conducted to determine whether Site soils are suitable for expansion
of the septic system. The SSS was performed pursuant to requirements of Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San
Joaquin County Development code and has been prepared to meet the requirements of the San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department's (EHD's) Soil Suitability Study Requirement Checklist(dated
9/25/07).A major element of the field work included conducting percolation tests that meet absorption rates
as specified by EHD. A review of published soil information, geologic maps, and available groundwater
information was also conducted.
1.1.1 Description of Site,Including Zone Information
The Nile Garden Elementary School property is located in the northern San Joaquin Valley approximately
3 miles southwest of Manteca. The approximately 15-acre site(APN: 226-07-003) is generally rectangular
in shape and surrounded by mixed agriculture and rural residential development.
