GEO-PHASE
ENVIRONMENTAL
WORK PLAN
Soil Boring Installation
5671 Lower Sacramento Road
Lodi, CA
(APN No.: 027-050-22)
October 21,2008
GPE Project No. 593.2
1.0 INTRODUCTION
The subject property is an agricultural parcel in southwestern Lodi, which is being
considered for redevelopment. The parcel currently is the site of a vacant farm building
complex, which may have operated one or more agriculturally exempt, underground fuel
tanks. This Work Plan outlines the procedures, protocols, and methods to be used to
install and sample 9 soil borings designed to investigate sub-surface soil conditions
associated with the possible former underground gasoline storage tanks.
1.1 SITE BACKGROUND
The subject parcel has been in agricultural use for many years, and the east end of the
parcel has been the site of a farm building complex since at least 1918. Although no
records of an underground tank(s) have been found, sites such as this commonly operated
underground tanks at some point in their history. The purpose of the work herein
described is to explore whether such tank(s) might have leaked to impact the soil under
the area of the building complex.
Based on groundwater monitoring data from a remedial investigation of a nearby
business, the groundwater in this part of Lodi is about 50 feet below the ground surface,
and flows toward the south.
2937 Veneman Ave.,#13240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
