Washington St., Lodi CA,(APN 04123039)
Complaint ID: C00030756
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD)was notified on August 3, 2009, from
a CA Emergency Management Agency Hazardous Materials Spill Report Control#09-5417 that a Diesel
spill of approximately 20-30 gallons was released to the ground. A site inspection on August 3, 2009
revealed a large stain directly underneath a vehicle. The spill was partially excavated by CA Army
National Guard Personnel; however the staining on the soil still remains. Plastic was placed over the
excavation pending clean up by a hazardous waste contractor, once the funding and bid award process was
completed. On September 23, 2009, Mr. Michael Holder stated that they are still in negotiations to hire the
clean up contractor.
Corrective Action: The EHD is referring the oversight of the investigation and cleanup to the
Department of Toxic Substances Control(DTSC) and the Central Valley Regional Water Quality
Control Board(CVRWQCB). Please contact Tim Miles of DTSC at(916)255-3710 to determine
proper oversight.
A"Notification of Hazardous Waste Discharge"report was filed on August 3, 2009 with the DTSC and
the CVRWQCB pursuant to Health and Safety Code §25180.7. The site was also placed on the list of
hazardous waste contaminated sites in San Joaquin County that is maintained by the EHD.
Any questions can be directed to Ray von Fliie at(209)468-9848.
Ray von Flue, REHS
Environmental Health Department ,
cc:.
