Mr. Robert Garcia -3 - 8 July 2005
removes as much SPH as possible and incorporates appropriate technologies to remove residual soil and
dissolved-phase pollutants, Leprino and Regional Board staff will review the monitoring data to
determine when it is appropriate to decommission remediation systems and terminate monitoring.
The Cleanup Plan as submitted is acceptable as an Interim Cleanup Plan. A final Cleanup Plan will be
required at such time as Leprino can define the steps to take for dissolved phase remediation. The
additional characterization work may proceed. Prior to installation of the additional monitoring and
extraction wells,Leprino should submit their recommendation for the final location of the wells for
Regional Board staff concurrence. Please notify staff 72 hours prior to the initiation of the field work so
that we may arrange to be present to observe the work. A report containing the details of the
investigation and well installation will be due 60 days after completion of the installation. If you have
any questions, you may contact me at(916)464-4677 or at gdjuth@waterboards.ca.gov.
GERALD J.
