Suite 210 <br /> xr:+ecx nwa:n• <br /> Louisville, Colorado 80027 <br /> www.geotransinc.com 303-665-4390 FAX 303-665-4391 <br /> November 3, 2003 <br /> Mr. Gerald Djuth, P.E. <br /> California Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> 3443 Routier Road, Suite A <br /> Sacramento,California 95827-3015 <br /> Subject: Work Plan for Downgradient Groundwater Quality Characterization, Leprino <br /> Foods Company, Tracy California <br /> Dear Mr. Djuth: <br /> At the request of the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CV-RWQCB), <br /> downgradient water quality conditions at the Leprino Foods Company(LFC)plant in Tracy <br /> California will be characterized for groundwater flow direction and extent of diesel impacts. <br /> Conditions and history of the site have been documented in previous reports submitted to the <br /> CV-RWQCB. <br /> The characterization will be performed using Geoprobe technology in accordance with this <br /> document, hereafter referred to as the Work Plan. The objective of this Work Plan is to better <br /> characterize groundwater conditions downgradient of the LFC plant property line with respect to <br /> dissolved diesel concentrations. <br /> This Work Plan has been submitted in addition to the document entitled Proposed Remediation <br /> System Enhancements and Recommended Modifications to Monitoring and Reporting <br /> Program, <br /> dated September 22, 2003, which addresses site remediation,recommendations for changes to <br /> the Monitoring and Reporting Plan and the proposed pathway to site closure. <br /> Soil and groundwater samples will be field screened and selectively submitted for laboratory <br /> analysis. Based on the results of the Geoprobe investigation, an additional downgradient <br /> monitoring well will be installed. Geoprobe characterization, sampling and groundwater well <br /> installation procedures are provided below. <br />
