2.2 Well Development
At least 24 hours after the grout seal has been placed, the well will be developed. Initial
development will consist of surging with a bailer for approximately a half hour by moving the
bailer up and down. After surging, the well will be bailed or pumped for up to an additional two
hours or until produced water is clear. Since this well is not to be used for potable water supply,
and because of the potential presence of petroleum hydrocarbons, it will not be disinfected.
2.3 Surveying
Upon completion, the elevation for well MW-17 will be surveyed by a Professional Land
Surveyor, registered in the State of California to requirements that conform to GeoTracker
standards. Since the well will be installed at the same location as the existing well, it will not be
surveyed for horizontal location. The survey will conform to the grid system now in use at the
site.
2.4 Well Nomenclature
The replacement well will be referred to as MW-17A.
3.0 WASTE HANDLING
All solid and liquid waste produced during well abandonment and reinstallation will be drummed
as it is generated. The drill cuttings are not anticipated to be contaminated. They will be
characterized and disposed in accordance with applicable regulations.
Liquid wastes will be discharged to the on-site Leprino treatment system for pre-treatment before
being discharged to the public water treatment system.
3
