INVESTIGATIVE WORK <br /> GEOLOGY <br /> The subject property is located approximately 3 miles from the Coast Range Mountains <br /> • which border the San Joaquin Valley on the west The elevation change is a very gradual <br /> increase toward the mountains on the west The property lies at the outer reaches of the <br /> alluvial outwash from these mountains <br /> • <br /> The Delta-Mendota Canal and the Central Valley Water Project Canal are located <br /> approximately 2 miles to the west The nearest natural surface water flows out of the <br /> mountains through Elk Ravine A canal crosses the subject property and was dug by the <br /> • <br /> Perezrra Family long ago <br /> According to the State of California Water Resource Control Board, local groundwater is <br /> • , approximately 60 feet below ground surface (bgs) The depth to groundwater at the site is <br /> 58 feet bgs (Lawrence Pererrra, personal communication) <br /> Soil borings from a site assessment conducted adjacent to the site indicate that the local <br /> • <br /> area is underlain by silty clays, silty sands and clayey gravels <br /> SOIL BORINGS <br /> • <br /> AEMC drilled six soil borings on 18 and 24 June 1991 three vertical borings to a depth of <br /> 30 feet, one 45° angle boring to 18 5 feet, one 10-foot boring and one 20-foot boring The <br /> borings were drilled using a truck-mounted drill rig and 8-inch outside diameter hollow- <br /> stem augers Five of the sic soil borings were within the limits of the original tank <br /> excavation.
