Soil borings were filled using a cement/bentomte <br /> grout mix A tremie pipe was used to place the grout in borings that contained an appreci- <br /> able amount of water m the boring San Joaquin County Department of Health representa- <br /> tives oversaw and approved the grout mix and placement <br /> 2 2 2 Supplemental Phase II Investigation Soil Bormgs <br /> The results of soil sampling conducted in the initial Phase II Investigation indicated some <br /> potential impact from the former UFT but that the potential degree and lateral extent of site- <br /> related constituents near the former UFT location was not fully defined To approximate the <br /> extent of soil and shallow ground water impacted in the area of the former UFT, seven sup- <br /> plemental soil borings (SB-8 through SB-14) were drilled and three additional monitoring <br /> wells (MW-4, MW-5, and MW-6) were installed in borings advanced specifically for moni- <br /> toring wells during the supplemental Phase II Investigation The location of each of these <br /> borings is shown in Figure 3 Boring logs are included in Appendix B <br /> i <br /> The methods by winch these borings were advanced and samples collected were identical to <br /> those employed during the initial Phase II Investigation, except that dedicated six-inch long <br /> brass sample tubes were mserted into the spht-barrel samplers to collect soil samples for <br /> 29025 <br /> ' "REALISTIC SOLUTIONS FOR HAZARDOUS WASTE PROBLEMS" = <br />
