1-4 <br /> In order to accomplish these objectives, a subsurface investigation was conducted The in- <br /> vestigation included collection and analyses of soil and ground water samples to determine <br /> whether site-related constituents were present in the environmental media The original <br /> SOW for the investigation included the advancement of seven shallow borings to depths of <br /> between 14 and 18 feet below ground surface (ft-bgs) for the collection of soil samples <br /> "Three of the bonngs were converted to monitoring wells to enable the collection of ground <br /> water samples for analysis and evaluation of site hydrogeologncal conditions <br /> Following the receipt of preliminary laboratory results, certain site-related constituents were <br /> detected in both sampled media m the Former UFT Area A supplemental Phase H Investi- <br /> gation was conducted, which included the drilling and sampling of seven additional shallow <br /> borings and installation of three additional monitoring wells to allow estimation of the extent <br /> of soil and ground water impacted in the Former UFT Area <br /> 29M5 <br /> "REALISTIC SOLUTIONS FOR HAZARDOUS WASTE PROBLEMS" <br />
