2.2 Scope of Work <br /> ' Task 1 - Planning and Permits <br /> • Prepare and submit a project work plan to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHSIEHD) and the California Regional Water Quality <br /> Control Board(CRWQCB). <br /> • Prepare and submit a site specific Health and Safety Plan (HASP) to the PHSIEHD and the <br /> ' CRWQCB. <br /> • Obtain monitoring well abandonment permits. <br /> • Notify Underground Service Alert to locate and mark underground utilities. <br /> ' Task 2 - Excavation ofg asoline contaminated soils <br /> • Properly abandon and destroy monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, MW-4 and MW-8 in <br /> accordance with California water well standards. <br /> • Excavate contaminated soils from the vicinity of the former UST. <br /> • Screen soils from the excavation to guide excavation and separate contaminated soils from <br /> uncontaminated soils. <br /> ' • Transport contaminated soils to temporary storage area. <br /> • Collect soil samples for analysis from the interior, periphery and bottom of the completed <br /> excavation. <br />� ' • Transport soil samples to a California State certified laboratory for analysis of TPH-gasoline <br /> and BTEX compounds. <br /> • Install Oxygen Release Compound in backfill materials to aid aerobic degradation of residual <br /> rcontaminants. <br /> • Backfill and compact excavations,using approved fill materials, to the pre-existing grade. <br /> ' Task 3—Additional Soil Investigation <br /> ' . Install five potholes using an excavator to attempt to further delineate the lateral boundaries <br /> of contamination. <br /> Collect representative soil samples for laboratory analysis of petroleum hydrocarbons. <br /> Task 4—Soil Aeration <br /> • Obtain approval to conduct on-site aeration of gasoline contaminated soils from the San <br /> Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District (APCD). <br /> Spread stockpiled soil into a thin layer to allow contaminants to volatilize in accordance with <br /> APCD regulations. <br /> • Disc soil on a routine basis to optimize remediation rates. <br /> • Monitor soil for reduction of gasoline and gasoline constituents. <br /> American Geological Services, Inc. <br /> CA95nE-o29 <br /> 4 <br />
