Procedures for SVE/IAS well installation, SVF/IAS piping system installation. <br /> SVE system start-up period, sampling,monitoring, maintenance and progress/confirmation sampling <br /> and reporting, are outlined below: <br /> 5.1. INITIAL ACTIVI'T'IES <br /> The Tollo,,Nim, tasks will be performed prior to any di-ging/drilling activities: <br /> • Preparation of a Site Health and Safety Plan in accordance with the Occillwlional Saks-v an(l <br /> Heallh Gzridaj7c'e Ihr7c11,dous H"uslc Site ;4cliviiics - Prepared by National <br /> Institute for Occupational Safety and I lealth_Occupational Safety and Health Administration, <br /> U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. T:nvironmental Protection Agency. October 1985. <br /> • Notification the PHS-EI ID a nnininnum ol'48 hours prier to commencement o1 any work after <br /> securing, proper soil boring or well permits. <br /> • Markin of all drillin�� locations at least 48 hours in advance for an Underground Service <br /> Alert (USA) check of underground utilities or pipes. <br /> 5.2. SOII. VAPOR EX"[RACrI-JON WELL/SYSTEM INSTALLATION <br /> Installation of' an additional seven SVE wells is proposed. Two types of wells for soil vapor <br /> extraction are proposed. Three addition "nested" wells are to be installed in the northern and central <br /> portion of the site to address shallow soil and Laround water remediation efforts. Four recovery soil <br /> vapor or ground water vapor extraction wells are to be installed on the southern portion of the site. <br /> 5.2.1. Soil Vapor Extraction Well Installation <br /> Wells \kill be installed utilizinua truck-mounted drill rig equipped with 8-inch diameter hollow stem <br /> augers Ror single completed wells and with I 0-inch diameter hollow stem augers for dual-completed <br /> wells. The SVE wells will be advanced to depths of approximately, 50 feet bsg. <br /> The three SVE wells will be dual-completed with two 2-inch diameter. schedule 40 PVC well <br /> casing_>s emplaced vertically through the l0-inch hollow stem augers. Each dual SVP: well will utilize <br /> fifteen feet of slotted well casing (0.020-inch screen size) from 15 to 30 feet bsg and ten feet of <br /> slotted well casing (0.020-inch screen size) from 40 to 50 feet bsg. A 43 Lonestar Lapis I.uster sand <br /> will be potEred down the annulus between the well casing and the inner wall of the hollow stens <br /> Advanced GeoFmironmental,lose. <br />
