' 21 January 1999 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 98-0450 <br /> Page 4 of 8 <br /> to determine the lateral extent of the hydrocarbon impact to soil and ground water Soil boring SB7 <br /> was established approximately at the western end of the former southern dispenser island <br /> The following Is a summary of the construction and exploration details <br /> • Wells BMW-3 and BMW-5 (Borings BMW3 and BMW5, respectively) were advanced to <br /> a total depth of 60 feet bsg and completed with 0 02-inch slotted screen from depths of 40 <br /> to 60 feet bsg A filter pack was installed in both wells using #3 Lonestar sand from 38 to <br /> 60 feet bsg Bentonite chips were used to make a 2-foot plug above the sand filter packs The <br /> remaining annular spaces were backfilled to within one foot the surface with portland <br /> cement A traffic-rated well box (8-inch diameter) was installed over each well, in <br />' accordance with County regulations <br /> • Well BMW-4 (Borings SB4) was advanced to a total depth of 65 feet bsg A sand base was <br /> used to make a 5-foot base at the bottom of the soil boring Then bentonite chips were used <br /> to make a 5-foot plug from 60 feet bsg to 55 feet bsg, above the sand base The boring was <br /> completed with 0 02-inch slotted screen from depths of 45 to 55 feet bsg A filter pack was <br /> installed In the well using 43 Lonestar sand from approximately 44 to 55 feet Bentonite <br /> chips were used to make a 2-foot plug above the sand filter pack The remaining annular <br /> space was backfilled to within one foot the surface with portland cement A traffic-rated well <br />' box (8-inch diameter) was installed over the well, in accordance with County regulations <br /> • Wells VW1 and VW2 (Borings SB5 and SB6, respectively) were advanced to total depths <br />' of 40 feet bsg and were completed with 0 02-inch slotted screen from depths of 10 to 40 feet <br /> bsg A filter pack was installed in both wells using#3 Lonestar sand from 10 to 40 feet bsg <br /> Bentonite chips were used to make a 2-foot plug above the sand filter packs The remaining <br />' annular spaces were backfilled to within one foot the surface with portland cement A traffic- <br /> rated well box (8-inch diameter) was installed over each well, in accordance with County <br /> regulations <br />' • Boring SBI was advanced to a total depth of 15 feet bsg The annular space was backfilled <br /> to the surface with portland cement in accordance with County regulations <br />' • Boring SB2 was advanced at a 35 degree angle from vertical to an approximate vertical depth <br /> of 55 feet bsg, using 65 feet of augers The annular space was backfilled to the surface with <br /> portland cement in accordance with County regulations <br /> Boring SB2 was advanced at a 35 degree angle from vertical to an approximate vertical depth <br /> of 30 feet bsg, using 35 feet of augers The annular space was backfilled to the surface with <br />' portland cement in accordance with County regulations <br /> • Boring IBI was advanced to an approximate total depth of 55 feet bsg The annular space <br /> was backfilled to the surface with portland cement in accordance with County regulations <br /> Adianced GeoEn�ironmental,Inc <br />
